FOX Weather is looking for a Producer to join our Content Core team in New York City. The FOX Weather Content Core is on the front lines of the weather news industry and critical to driving the overall content strategy of FOX Weather that powers our live programming, digital articles & videos on foxweather.com and the FOX Weather app and content across all social media platforms. You love to hunt for the best new original or exclusive story to tell and are committed to advancing stories in the weather news beat 24/7. You have a team-first mentality and dedicated passion for news to be successful in this position at FOX Weather.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effort exclusive and original news to be used in various deliverables on FOX Weather stream, foxweather.com, and across all distribution platforms
Hunt and clear UGC for FOX Weather to use across all platforms
Chase and confirm news on and off the record for FOX Weather in peacetime and active weather
Pitch ideas for stories, emphasizing original reporting and advancing news as well as compelling, weather-adjacent content
Write stories for foxweather.com, post to FOX Weather social platforms and cut video as needed
Consistently meet fair deadlines and established productivity goals
Monitor analytics to inform strategic content decisions
Support all functions of FOX Weather’s Content Core, assisting with logistics for field team, ingestion requests and coordination internally and externally as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study preferred
At least 4 years of experience in journalism, either digital outlets, traditional linear newsrooms or on an assignment desk
Excellent news judgement, strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Ability to utilize various content management, newsgathering, social media and collaboration tools such as Airtable, Jira, Wordpress, WSI graphics among others
Extensive knowledge of news cycle
Social media savviness
Passion for weather news
Ability to work under deadline and pressure of a fast-paced newsroom
Willingness to work weekends, nights or early mornings

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,000.00-93,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
