JOB DESCRIPTION

Red Seat Ventures (RSV) leads the industry in building and monetizing unique media properties for influential personalities and brands. RSV is designed to build these businesses from the ground up, putting content creators in control of their own destiny.

We’re looking to hire a guest booker for a talk format radio program and podcast focused on breaking crime and justice news. The guest booker will with an established on-air personality and the production team on a daily program that breaks news and provides engaging analysis and commentary on the criminal cases captivating the country. The guest booker will support the booking producer & executive producer on all aspects of guest booking and show planning.

This position reports to the executive producer.  

This position is remote and work from home.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for identifying, contacting, and scheduling guests relevant to the topics of each program.
  • Build and maintain a directory of expert contributors for the program
  • Create and distribute the daily planning note with all relevant guest information and key details on the show’s topic
  • Ensure host has all relevant guest information – including guest name pronunciation, guest promotional material, etc.
  • Carry out thorough research, and obtain any materials needed for production
  • Work in collaboration with the host, guests, and other program contributors, in order to perform quality assurance to meet established production standards
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Experience pitching, finding, and booking guests
  • Previous experience in radio, podcast, or television news
  • Passion for breaking news, true crime, televised courtroom trials, and more
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with a high-profile talent
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Must work around host’s schedule for recording of new episodes
  • Comfortable working in a breaking news environment
  • Journalism background a plus
  • Familiarity with broadcast and sound editing equipment a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,000.00-70,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
