The Scrum Master role helps scrum teams reach peak productivity by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, assisting the Product Owner with maintaining a healthy and actionable backlog, identifying and resolving roadblocks, tracking progress, and identifying and acting on opportunities for continuous improvement. The Scrum Master also plays a critical role in the adoption of Scrum, SAFe and other agile development practices by the organization, and being able to evangelize best practices and collaborate with other team members as to the methodology.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Calendars and facilitates critical agile ceremonies, as needed, or participates and provides guidance.
Mentor teams and peers in agile best practices, provide ‘right-hand’ support to program managers/release train engineers, accountable for resource and capacity planning and delivery predictability management of respective teams.
Identifies, communicates and works to resolve bottlenecks.
Recommends opportunities to improve velocity and team morale.
Actively participates in program level ceremonies to be able to ensure success in delivery of value in alignment with portfolio and program level priorities.
Follows direction from the agile adoption strategy and rollout plans for teams across the organization.
Develops and evaluates team metrics and makes recommendations in improving agile processes and metrics.
Captures feedback to foster collaboration and emotional intelligence across the organization.
Develops and evolves agile training materials and methods.
Ensures continuous improvement of teams and champions what they need for efficacy and success..
Ensures the Software Delivery Process is followed.
Manages capacity and throughput of team(s) to deliver value through use of metrics, best practices and team working agreements.
Manages alignment of sprint goals to delivery timelines as part of sprints, release trains, and program-level commitments.
Facilitates adoption of agile methods and frameworks to increase accountability and effectiveness of delivery teams across the organization.
Manages cross-team dependencies, creates release plans and proactively identifies, communicates and escalates risks.
Assists with maintenance of properly groomed backlogs, prioritizing technical debt, ensuring that a sustainable pace of work is maintained, ensuring that information in JIRA is accurate and up-to-date so burndown and other charts can be produced any time, and ensuring completion of sprint commitments.
Supports Tech Lead and Product Manager with removing impediments for delivery teams.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education.
Working experience in design, development, and implementation of digital systems and products
Working experience working with and applying Agile methodologies and tools, and lean Agile practices (SAFe. Scrum, Kanban)
Working experience facilitating, mentoring, training and/or offering professional coaching
Working experience in an Agility training / coaching role creating Agile training/workshop material
Working experience transitioning delivery teams to Agile practices Working experience as a Scrum Master. Working experience with lean thinking
Scrum Master Certification (CSM)

Relevant industry experience in digital media products and systems
Master’s degree in Computer Science
Higher-level Agile certifications such as SAFe Certified Scrum Master, SAFe RTE Certification, Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), IC Agile

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $114,000.00-145,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
