JOB DESCRIPTION

The Fox News Channel is seeking an experienced AP/Booker to join the weekend primetime programming team. The ideal candidate is an energetic and proactive self-starter with a positive attitude who will build upon prior relationships with high-profile guests to book strong newsmakers and exclusive interviews on a weekly basis. You are also prepared to set up shoots and interviews in the field, as well as producing pre-taped segments with remote guests.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Book guests for weekly program and long-term projects

  • Track down difficult-to-find people using social media & other tools

  • Work collaboratively with co-workers to determine the best approach to securing high-profile interviews

  • Pitch unique news and feature stories for a weekly program, focusing on politics, economics, lifestyle, and culture

  • Select video, sound bites, and graphic elements that align with the show’s editorial vision

  • Write compelling and concise scripts for television

  • Conduct and concisely convey in-depth research on a wide range of topics

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of prior television (or similar) experience

  • Strong writing skills and excellent editorial judgment

  • Experience interacting with high-profile talent and guests

  • Build and establish relationships with guests and high profile newsmakers and the ability to maintain those relationships when bookings need to be canceled or rescheduled

  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a high-pressure environment

  • Understanding that the news never stops, and some work may be required outside regular hours

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $61,000.00-70,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $50,800.00-58,300.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
