FOX News is looking for an experienced ENG (Electronic News Gathering) Field Photographer for our New York Bureau. The Field Photographer will cover breaking news and planned events both domestically and internationally. The role requires collaboration with other photographers, technical support staff, satellite truck operators, engineers, field producers, and reporters. You must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, potentially on short notice. Extensive travel and the ability to deploy at a moment’s notice to support the demands of a 24-hour news operation are essential.
The candidate must be comfortable covering breaking news as a one-man team and equally comfortable with large productions that include multi-camera shoots using full-sensor cinematic cameras and lighting techniques associated with high-end production. The Photographer should have experience covering protests/riots, rallies, and war zone conflicts with traditional ENG cameras.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and engage in assignments involving multiple cameras
Set up and manage audio configurations for both single and multi-camera shoots
Operate FTP, LiveU, and BGAN for content transmission
Drive company vehicles and rentals safely and responsibly
Travel extensively and spontaneously for urgent news coverage
Work a nonstandard, flexible schedule that includes overtime and weekend shifts
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
5+ years of professional experience in the field
Extensive knowledge of Sony/Panasonic ENG cameras and familiarity with file based workflow operations
Advanced skills in lighting, including experience with long-form productions
The flexibility and speed to work in a high-stress breaking news environment
Versatility and preparedness to work in the bureau one day, shoot and edit the next day at remote location
Comprehensive understanding of satellite, microwave, fiber and live truck transmissions/operations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of field audio
Skill in managing live remote broadcasts with IFB communications
Video photography proficiency and adept at non-linear editing systems
Familiarity with streaming technologies and satellite news-gathering assets
Willingness to train on satellite camera crew vehicle operations
Valid Driver’s License and Passport
Flexible schedule to suit a news organization operating 24/7, including availability for overtime and weekend work
Willing and available to travel last minute frequently
A clean driving record is required, CDL is a plus
Adobe Premier editing is preferred
Knowledge of full-frame cinematic cameras is a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $45.50-52.00 per hour for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $37.75-43.25 per hour for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
