JOB DESCRIPTION

The Will Cain Show is looking for an experienced Line Producer to help launch a multi-vertical program. As a Line Producer, you'll assist with our content creation process, be responsible for pitching compelling story ideas, securing top-tier guests, and collaborating with producers.

You should have excellent editorial judgment, managerial skills, and breaking news experience. An understanding of national politics and interest in general news is required. 

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate daily story development to the executive producer

• Work with on-air talent, reporters and guests in the field, and the director to ensure the program runs as smoothly as possible

• Participate in editorial planning

• Help book guest segments/studios

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• A Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

• 4+ years of professional experience in a live control room line producing a show

• Decisive and skilled management of a control room

• Solid understanding of international news coverage preferred

• Strong technical and decision-making skills

• Broad knowledge of current events, politics, and pop culture

• Strong writing and copy-editing skills

• Ability to work under intense deadline pressure in a newsroom

• Ability to work and stack an everyday rundown and switch gears/roll with breaking news

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $84,500.00-110,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $70,400.00-91,600.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
