FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You’ll need a sense of urgency and mastery of the control room environment and be ready to take live coverage on linear, streaming platforms or both at the same time. You’ll need to maintain a close relationship with our digital team to make sure everything we do is tailored for the platforms we serve and that each piece of content we create works in support of our growing digital footprint. Other skills we’re looking for include: Concise, accurate and audience focused writing skills, the ability to edit video in support of live and studio segments, plus knowledge of social media best practices.

You’ll participate in the editorial process along with anchors, reporters, assignment desk team members and managers to develop daily and future stories and segments, keeping FOX 26 ahead of all local news outlets in creating the most compelling content for our audience. You’ll also have opportunities to produce news and sports specials, field produce big events and take on other special projects.

Requirements:  Minimum 2 years’ experience as a producer in a medium or large market is preferred. Bachelor's Degree required, journalism or a related field preferred. Must be able to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and multitask. Ideal candidate has familiarity with newsroom computer systems, graphics programs and video editing software. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours/shifts/shows. This is an evening news position, but other shifts may be assigned as needed, including mornings, weekends and holidays. Must have a valid credit card and driver's license.
