FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 26 is hiring a Creative Content Associate Producer to help us transform the way we deliver news and information across platforms. We distribute content via FOX Local on mobile phones and SmartTVs, Fox26Houston.com and social media pages including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X and Facebook.

The Creative Content Associate Producer will focus on telling stories our digital users will find timely, relevant, engaging and shareable. You’ll be responsible for creating content from start to finish, including writing text-based stories, curating photos, editing videos and creating graphics. You’ll be asked to create on-demand video content and manage livestreams for our FOX Local platform, monitoring analytics in real time to optimize the platform and ensure an excellent user experience. You’ll be responsible for creating social media posts, while helping FOX 26 talent amplify their social media pages with engaging content. In breaking news and severe weather situations, you’ll need to drop what you’re doing and react quickly to distill a rapid stream of information and video into digestible content across digital platforms.  

FOX 26 is a 24/7 local content provider.  Shifts may include early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. During breaking news or severe weather, you’ll need to be available on site to help us serve our audience during critical incidents.

REQUIREMENTS: 2+ years experience developing and publishing content, including news, on digital and social platforms preferred. BA/BS degree required, preferably in Journalism, Communications or related fields with emphasis on digital publishing. Excellent writer and storyteller. Superior news judgment. Impeccable writing and copy editing skills. Overwhelming attention to detail. Thrive under deadline pressure. Stellar communication skills. Social media expert. Proficient in content management systems, video publishing, live streaming, and digital analytics tools. Video and photo editing experience (Adobe products a plus).
