JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Duties:

Fox News Network, LLC seeks a Software Developer (Senior Android Developer) to play an essential role in building out and maintaining Fox news current native mobile apps, as well as engineering new applications from scratch. Inﬂuence Fox mobile development stack to create enterprise-level applications on the Android platform. Develop relationships and work with other developers and stakeholders, such as designers, project managers, and product managers. Specific duties include: 1) Develop features for the Fox News and Fox Business Android apps, including Android TV and Fire TV apps. 2) Develop and maintain CI/CD solutions, test solutions, and solidify the development process. 3) Help architect and develop solutions for enterprise-level challenges such as caching media playback, and more. 4) Help further the mobile development stack for unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment. 5) Work with developers on-and-offsite across different development environments such as web, CMS, and backend service teams. Telecommuting is permitted up to 50%/week within normal commuting distance of Fox office in New York, NY.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field, plus two (2) years of Android development or related development experience on Android platform, including experience using Java and Kotlin.

Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field, plus five (5) years of Android development or related development experience on Android platform, including experience using Java and Kotlin.

*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following: 1) OTT development for Android TV or Fire TV; 2) Experience building components using MVVM (model-view-view model) pattern; 3) Knowledge of design patterns; 4) Experience with Git, GitHub and Jira; 5) Experience with RESTful JSON feed consumption; 6) Experience with push notification integration and deep linking; and 7) Experience working with product owners in building features per business requirements

Telecommuting is permitted up to 50%/week within normal commuting distance of Fox office in New York, NY.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $179,982.00-197,980.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
