JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Vice President of Drama Programming and Development will be responsible for contributing to the creative strategy for FOX Entertainment.  The Senior Vice President will supervise the development of new scripted content, from concept to series, as well as oversee all aspects of production for new and returning shows. The Senior Vice President will be in charge of the overall creative activities related to the tracking, soliciting, procurement, evaluation, development, and oversight of the Network’s shows  They will also oversee every aspect of their shows, including taking full current responsibility for the creative decisions made with producers and all internal departments (casting, marketing, scheduling, research, etc.).
 
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee shows from creation to airing – casting, directors, music, etc.
  • Generate creative notes for projects in active development as well as current series
  • Put quality series on the air
  • Take and evaluate pitches and scripts for potential development
  • Take general meetings for future development and staffing
  • Build the seasonal development slate
  • Attend staff meetings and report the status of shows
  • Make sure all departments are working cohesively to make the FOX Entertainment Programming successful
  • Track competitive projects
  • Create writer and director lists
  • Read and evaluate script submissions
  • Read and evaluate scripts and other written/visual materials
  • Staff high-quality writers and directors who are appropriate for FOX Entertainment
  • Analyze and contribute thoughts to projects in development/consideration
  • Meet with creative talent for potential development opportunities

 
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 15+ years of experience at an agency, studio, or network 
  • College education, knowledge of industry and players
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Level head, calm personality
  • Collaborative nature
  • Be able to work out the logic to make sure stories track

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $200,000.00-400,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
