JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports is looking for a Freelance Broadcast IT Engineer to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The Freelance Broadcast IT Engineer will support live studio broadcast and postproduction with an emphasis on networking. Understanding of Network Rules, Firewalls, VLANs, Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing protocol knowledge will be needed to keep production and post-production units operational.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on location at the Fox Pico Lot supporting Production and Post-production daily operations
  • Work with a team of engineers with vast knowledge of multiple operating systems and broadcast gear
  • Provide technical support of gear ranging from Network Switches, IP routers, Automation, 2110 broadcast devices 
  • Understand CAD drawings for the purpose of planning/implementing expansion projects

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 2+ years of experience in IT based engineering roles
  • CCNP Certification
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing protocol understanding
  • Advanced computer/IT skills
  • Understanding of networking, subnets, and IT configuration

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • College education
  • Prior work experience in television trucks or network facilities
  • Broadcast router experience
  • Experience with Evertz

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $60.00-70.00 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
