JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Tax Director!  The Associate Tax Director is an integral part of the tax compliance group primarily responsible for domestic compliance and tax accounting for the Sports and Entertainment operations of a U.S. based multi-national company.

This role is hybrid work schedule and must be able to work onsite in the Los Angeles office.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review corporate and partnership federal, state, and local income tax returns
  • Review quarterly estimated tax payments and tax return extensions
  • Review interim and year-end tax provisions including current taxable income calculation and deferred tax rollforward
  • Liaise with finance and accounting personnel to collect and analyze financial information for assigned business operations
  • Develop an understanding of the business for assigned entities
  • Assist with responses to tax authority inquiries
  • Provide tax support to other corporate and operating groups
  • Supervise staff and/or consultants tasked with the preparation of assigned entity tax returns and projects
  • Assist with various tax projects as assigned relating to tax audits and tax planning

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 7+ years of domestic income tax compliance experience
  • Strong understanding of domestic corporate and partnership income tax principles
  • Understanding of tax accounting concepts
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to go through large amounts of data
  • Ability to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently when working remotely
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel for pivot tables and logical formulas
  • Strong technical research skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as a part of a team
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skill

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • MBT and/or CPA
  • Public accounting experience in a nationally recognized firm
  • Experience with Corptax, Alteryx, and Workday

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $140,000.00-161,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
