JOB DESCRIPTION
The Big Ten Network is looking for an Account Executive to join their team in Chicago, IL. The Account Executive for Big Ten Corporate Partnerships will focus on new business development for the Big Ten Conference and Big Ten Network sponsorship assets.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to VP, Sponsorships, the position will focus on building revenue for Big Ten Corporate Partnerships (BTCP)
- Work closely with all BTCP departmental employees and BTN sales leaders to generate partnerships thru Conference corporate rights partnerships & Big Ten Network Media agreements
- Create a strategy to connect with Fortune 500 companies within B1G footprint to develop partnership opportunities
- Initiate and drive new business relationships with brands and sports marketing agencies to secure new partnership revenues
- Manage and coordinate new business activity, including campaign planning and execution, event attendance, partnership ideation, and preparation of sales materials and pitches
- Build and maintain a robust and accurate new business pipeline and database of key decision makers at established and emerging target brands within critical sectors, including but not limited to telecom, apparel, hotel, car rental, airline, and financial
- Participate in B1G Sports Media Sales meetings and report on new developments within the Conference that impact advertising & marketing
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Strong understanding of sponsorship/marketing partnerships, with a minimum of 3-5 years of proven sales experience
- Demonstrated business acumen with a proven track record of delivering above and beyond annual revenue targets
- Rounded knowledge of sales enablement tools and software, including Microsoft Office
- Creative, flexible problem-solving approach with proficiency in oral and written communication, proposal ideation and creation, and contract negotiation
- Occasional travel to sponsor meetings
- Attendance at all major BTCP activations and major events
