JOB DESCRIPTION

Be part of a winning team with a diverse culture that believes in supporting, mentoring, and training our staff. We are searching for an experienced per diem Broadcast Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties include operating in Master Control, the Technical Operations Center, and Ingest.  Master Control automation experience a must with an emphasis on switching live sports.  Ensuring compliance with FCC regulations related to closed captioning, EAS, transmitters, text-to-speech, and the CALM Act. Live news experience is also including the ability to tuning in live shots via microwave, satellite, and bonded cellular are a must.  Other duties include commercial and program ingest and segmentation as well as quality control of on-air signal.  Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Other duties as deemed appropriate and necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

Two years of college or technical school and two years of related experience required.  The ability to work under tight timelines and high stress while maintaining an exceptional on-air product. Basic technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate issues to the Maintenance Engineers and supervisors. Must have knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking experience, and the ability to learn new applications and workflows quickly. Must work well with others in and out of the Engineering department and be able to communicate clearly in writing as well as in person.
