The WTXF Program Manager (‘PM’) is responsible for managing all facets of the Program schedule for FOX 29, including contract management, operational scheduling / execution / troubleshooting and financial reporting requirements.  The PM works with virtually every other FOX 29 department to assure that all programming is scheduled, formatted, listed, aired & reported properly.  This position not only works closely with FOX 29 Leadership, but the PM also liaises with counterparts at other FOX business units, as well as with FTS subject matter experts, to gather and share information relative to FTS Programming policies and processes.  Additionally, the PM is our main point of contact with Cable Headends and distribution / syndication partners.  As such, the PM must have strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to anticipate roadblocks and troubleshoot issues creatively and quickly. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain Program inventory (e.g., new / extended programs, locally produced shows / specials, episode numbers, formats, expirations, etc.) in Wide Orbit Programming based on contractual rights and obligations (e.g., kids’ programming).
  • Assist Fox 29 Leadership in making strategic program schedule changes, and developing contingency plans for Live events.
  • Liaise with other FOX Stations for all Program Tests.
  • Maintain program inventory records to assure contractual and document retention compliance.
  • Make and communicate all program schedule and / or title changes internally and externally where appropriate (i.e., listing changes, etc.).
  • Work with various departments to plan for, prepare and communicate late instructions for all Live programming.
  • Communicate technical satellite feed information to Engineering and ensure that episodes are available in advance of airing.
  • Troubleshoot root-cause, and resolve program-related discrepancies listed on the daily Discrepancy Report.
  • Ensure Standby and Paid Programming is maintained / aired according to Station requirements.
  • Perform daily Nielsen listing and Log Reconciliations; troubleshoot with Engineering / Sales / Traffic where necessary to reach resolution.
  • Assist in preparing / analyzing various data requests and financial reports relative to Programming (e.g., Amortization forecast / budget calculations and variance explanations, Program Asset Impairment, Program Profitability, Base Rate / Key Daypart reporting, Impact Studies, etc.) on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist Finance and Sales in preparing various Programming-related files for Budget presentation purposes.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as may be deemed necessary.

    Required Skillset:

  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written); ability to decipher proper escalation timing/path
  • Strong ability to work with, organize and present large amounts of data in Excel and other Microsoft Office formats
  • Well organized, proactive and methodical in task execution and troubleshooting
