ELC Technical Director – Full Time Regular): Fox13 is seeking a qualified Director with experience in automated news production. This individual will direct newscasts, promos and special events utilizing Sony ELC, and the Sony MVS switcher. Additionally, this position will utilize Vinten camera robotics, Jib camera, teleprompters, automated audio, iNews, BitCentral and Chyron graphics system. This role will also be involved in production duties to include floor direct and operate audio with the Calrec Audio mixer. Works in tandem with Producers in assembling show rundowns in iNews, camera blocking and talent placement. Understand the importance of quality control, and open communication with engineering, IT, facilities, and/or news when there is a system/equipment issue. Communicates issues and concerns with the Production Manager. Understands operation and workflow of systems in the control room.
Maintains a working knowledge of master control automation as it relates to production workflow. The qualified candidate will be able to work various shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to work unsupervised, as well as part of a team.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director/T.D. in commercial television with heavy emphasis on fast paced newscasts preferred. Sony ELC automation experience preferred.
