JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Segment Producer to join our First Things First team in Los Angeles. As our Segment Producer, you will work with the show producers to find topics and video elements.  You will work an overnight shift to get a head start each day in sending ideas to the NY producers. The Segment Producer will also oversee and manage the LA video team. Ultimately, you will serve as the right-hand person to the Producer through managing vision of important segments within the show.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with producers to decide show topics and video elements
  • Assist the Coordinating Producer and work with Associate Producers & Production Assistants with short & long form original content
  • Manages LA-based Production Assistants on video elements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Previous work experience in studio production required
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, as well as good interpersonal skills are required           
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, leadership skills, and strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Explorer are needed
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail are required
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective business relationships is necessary
  • The ability to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities and daily time constraints is required
