JOB DESCRIPTION

Home Team Sports has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President to join our ranks and lead our Team Multi Media Rights (MMR) business, which focuses on client-direct sales efforts to secure multi-year sponsorships and works collaboratively with Home Team Sports Media and Impression Sports & Entertainment sales groups. As Vice President, you will be directly in charge of a dedicated sales group, focused on non-media assets of teams, arenas and stadiums across the sport verticals of MLB, NBA and NHL – as well as our college conference rights in Pac-12, Big Ten and Big East. You will manage top level team and advertiser relationships, create revenue opportunities, maintain employee development plans and interface with our Sales Pricing & Strategy team.

As Vice President, you will be expected to utilize the latest prospecting tools, research data, market and sports sponsorship industry information (i.e. trades, business journals, etc.).  As you will be in a high-visibility position, you will also need superior presentation skills to articulate the Home Team Sports and MMR value proposition, possess a persuasive ability to monetize concepts and utilize trusting relationships forged with key target brand clients. Overall, you will be an integral part of the Home Team Sports Executive Leadership team helping set company goals, revenue targets, strategies and vision. 

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate new and incremental revenue, through a dedicated team with client-direct points of contact or senior-level contacts at agencies, articulating and prophesizing the MMR value proposition
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with stadiums and teams, promoting further engagement of MMR staff to bring in new business
  • Develop a methodical and organized approach for specific sales categories
  • Increase opportunities for Home Team Sports access and business growth with new clients through relationship development and industry specific networking
  • Maximize and monetize Home Team Sports sales opportunities in product categories with no current Home Team Sports sales presence
  • Partner, collaborate, ideate, prospect, strategize, target and execute sales plans with other Vice Presidents of Sales, the Vice President of Creative Partnerships, Vice President of Sales Pricing & Strategy, Vice President of Sales Insights and various Account Executives with the sole accountability for new non-media revenue generation for Home Team Sports and achieving overall team, quarterly, and annual budgeting parameters (as assigned by the Executive Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Finance) 
  • Achieve budgeted accountabilities for specific sports verticals or product categories assigned by the Executive Vice President of Sales, and utilize all available systems and reporting tools to ensure transparency and accountability

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in direct sponsorship sales, account management, sports marketing or new business sales
  • Experience in Team Sponsorship and Sports Arena Sales is crucial 
  • Must have prior management experience (leading a team of Account Executives)
  • Must have knowledge of the sports industry and sports sales with a proven track record of formulating and executing successful business development plans
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with high level clientele is required
  • Proven track record of ad revenue generation and innovative strategies
  • Must be a strategic thinker and possess an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Must have superior public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to make effective and persuasive presentations in both one-on-one and in group situations
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships in the ad community
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Revenue Generation systems, Custom Show, Media Ocean and/or Wide Orbit a plus
