JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Studio Lot Development and Operations is responsible for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Fox Studio Lot offices, studios, and related support facilities including critical environments of editing, broadcast, and data centers.
The Director, Plant Operations provides direct oversight of plant operation and maintenance for FOX Network Center; three office buildings totaling 600,000 square feet and associated mission-critical environments including satellite broadcast (uplink/downlink) facilities.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervision of on-site physical plant operations to ensure functionality, dependability, and consistency with a crew of eleven (11) union technicians.
  • Apply practical engineering experience to manage daily maintenance and operation of power, cooling, heating, plumbing and related equipment/infrastructure including:
    •   Critical environments including data centers, edit suites, production control and technical equipment rooms with related support infrastructure; UPS systems, standby generators, chiller plants, and cooling towers with N+1 redundancy.
    •  General building systems including fire/life safety systems.
  • Apply and execute change management protocol, Method of Procedure (MOP) / Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Work Authorizations (WA).
  • Maintain, develop, and implement consistent plant management, engineering, and operational functionality:
    •  Assess conditions to prioritize, plan, and implement repairs and improvements to equipment, infrastructure, and supervisory systems while maintaining day-to-day operations.
    •  Oversee work schedule of direct reports supporting 24/7 on-site coverage.
    •  Coordinate efforts and requirements with building occupants including third party tenants.
    •  Initiate, develop, and implement infrastructure and equipment improvements and renovations.
    •  Facilitate and support ongoing construction projects and tenant improvements.
    •  Interface with Fox Studio Lot departments supporting infrastructure outside of building footprints.
    •  Ensure compliance with regulatory, governmental, and company standards and policies.
  • Communicate conditions and requirements to staff, employees and consultants, clients and tenants, and upper management.
  • Assign, track, and report status on multiple concurrent tasks across in-house personnel, consultants, contractors, client/tenants, and management.
  • Support and improve written policies, procedures, and technical standards.
  • Perform administrative functions including operational and capital budgeting, payroll, purchasing, payment, documentation, and record management.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Development and Operations team members.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical or applicable engineering field, and/or 10 years progressive experience overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability operating and maintaining critical environments and facilities with change management protocols.
  • Versed in Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS), automation and controls.
  • Ability understand and navigate single line diagrams, mechanical and electrical engineered drawings, and other system construction/record documents.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills (verbal and writing) with the ability to collaborate effectively among multiple stakeholders.
  • Highly developed critical thinking skills.
  • Accessible and responsive 24/7 as necessary to address significant events.

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience overseeing plant operations and infrastructure supporting technology/data centers, live broadcast environments, or similar mission-critical facilities.
  • Competence in Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM), and Computer Maintenance Management System software (CMMS)
  • Understand dynamics of a campus environment with multiple tenants and stakeholders.
  • Professional Certification – Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical, Electrical, or associated field, Certified Professional Manager (CPMM), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or similar accreditations

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $106,000.00-175,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
