Job Description

The Big Ten Network is searching for a M.I.C.R. Engineer to join their team in Chicago. The position is responsible for overseeing the engineering for our camera aggregation (M.I.C.R.) productions onsite.  Duties include overseeing all technical aspects of their assigned MICR vehicle and driving the vehicle to remote events between Universities. Additional responsibilities include connecting feeds, quality control, troubleshooting and repairing all video, audio, data and communications feeds during our camera aggregation productions.


Responsibilities

  • Operation, maintenance and driving of MICR van for productions
  • Connecting, troubleshooting and repairing feeds during camera aggregation
  • Troubleshoots any problems that may occur in a timely manner
  • Quality control of outgoing audio and video feeds during the show
  • Manage onsite crew and complete necessary paperwork
  • Execute and complete projects as assigned

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 yr technical degree plus a minimum of 3 years broadcast equipment repair experience in a television production environment
  • Outstanding communication skills are a must
  • Must have excellent reasoning skills in order assist in troubleshooting problems
  • Must be able to troubleshoot production support equipment, camera chains, HD-SDI to IP encoding/decoding equipment and intercom systems
  • Must be proficient in the use of broadcast related test equipment including, but not limited to, waveform monitors, vectorscopes, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, test signal generators, etc
  • Must have competence in MS Office software applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio etc.)
  • Networking/Systems experience required. 
  • Valid Drivers License required - Must adhere to Department of Transportation rules an regulations as they pertain to commercial motor vehicles
