FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create compelling, UX-focused content related to news, events and topics relevant to local users and beyond, including text stories, photos/graphics, live streaming content, breaking news, and social media elements.
Actively pitch innovative story ideas that reflect the multifaceted nature of the San Francisco Bay Area, and passionately hunt for exclusive stories and scoops.
Engage with the community, building a network of sources that empowers our station to be the first to report on events, issues, and trends that matter to our viewers.
Serve as liaison to the newsroom, ensuring digital and social dominance.
Reach and engage users on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and beyond.
Work with Group Content Team and other FTS markets to distribute high-interest stories at scale.
Demonstrate an exceptional capacity for researching, reporting, and writing broadcast and digital print news copy that adheres to station standards, ensuring precision and clarity.
Independently create unique and compelling content for a variety of digital platforms, including streaming channels, social media, Connected TV apps, and other digital media.
Collaborate interdepartmentally to curate the station’s social media presence, consistently engage with viewers, and explore new ways to build new audiences.
Monitor real-time analytics and respond to digital trends and activity to capitalize on moments and stories that resonate with our audience.
Follow group and station standards in pursuit of journalistic excellence.
Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years experience developing and publishing content, researching and reporting new, and curating digital and social platforms. Excellent writer and storyteller. Superior news judgment and understanding of journalism tenets and ethics. Impeccable writing and copy editing skills. Overwhelming attention to detail. Thrive under deadline pressure. Stellar communication skills. Proficient in content management systems, video publishing, live streaming, and digital analytics tools. Video and photo editing experience (Proficiency with Adobe products preferred). Flexibility in schedule is a must to be able to meet business demands.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $25.00-30.00 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
