JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate, highly motivated, pro-active, and energetic Production Assistant/Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will pitch story ideas, help assemble segment packets, cut video, build fullscreen elements, and assist in the control room.  You will also provide high-level administrative and editorial support, including calendar management and organization. You are a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You have a great communication skills. You are comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast- paced environment for live TV. You are someone who is a quick learner. You have a strong interest in news and would like to pursue a career in the television news business.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing complex schedules, show activities and travel
  • Research and compile pre-interview/ research packets
  • Pitch story ideas
  • Facilitate graphic and video elements for the show
  • Liaison with other show teams
  • Help show with presence on social media

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of newsroom functions
  • Familiarity with digital editing platforms, such as Ardome and iNews
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong social media skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
