JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly motivated, pro-active, and creative Associate Producer to join our Washington Bureau.  As the Associate Producer you gather editorial information, cover events, generate story ideas and produce live shots.  You deliver a quality product in a fast paced 24-hour News environment.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Field produce with the ability to shoot, write and edit packages for air
  • Assist the Assignment Editor in adjusting crew coverage as News breaks
  • Monitors wires, social media and other broadcast networks for News developments
  • Reach out to agencies, government departments and Fox personnel to gather and confirm information
  • Conduct pre-interviews and in-depth research on wide range of topics
  • Pitch stories daily
  • Identify News, select video and sound bites, oversee editing, conduct interviews and write stories for television and the internet
  • Book high-profile guests and produce in studio segments
  • Produce News segments, live shots or packages or field producing

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree and or relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in television production
  • Flexibility to work, nights and weekends as required
  • Strong writing skills and editorial judgement
  • A passion for current events
  • Familiarity with iNews
  • Understanding of tapeless workflow in a Newsroom
