Job Description

Under general supervision, position provides payroll services for all freelance employees & support to BTN HR department.  This position will help to administer the strategic goals and objectives of BTN and provide services to management, staff, and production employees. Assist in processing timecards for crew on events produced in the studio with backup capability for remote events, tracking freelance paperwork, and providing freelance payroll customer service, generating payroll related reports in FACTS (Fox payroll), and maintaining payroll issues log including all related new hire paperwork and forms and working daily with Fox payroll. 


Responsibilities

  • Works to ensure timely receipt of time cards from studio production freelancers and quality check timecards. Provide customer service to freelance personnel regarding their pay. Handle all troubleshooting related to processing of payroll internally.
  • Partner with Contract Manager to input contract details into FACTS.
  • Administrative duties such as answering phones, employee inquiries, maintaining personnel files. 
  • Coordinates the HR administration of all BTN interns (in office and on Big Ten campuses) and BTN N.O.W. including Kronos enrollment, late time cards, troubleshooting payroll issues etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-2 years HR or payroll experience.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, policies and basic employment law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of a production environment.
  •  Exceptional mathematical skills.
  • Critical problem solving skills required.
  • Strong reasoning skills.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet.
  • Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of the industry and business units.
  • Excel at maintaining highly confidential information and handle sensitive situations with confidence.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to identify work priorities and requirements completing projects on time.
  • Skilled in establishing on-going relations of trust and understanding with all employees; understand and support employee needs in a proactive manner.
  • Must possess strong service orientation; strong teamwork skills.
