The Big Ten Network is searching for a Studio Operations Supervisor to join their team in Chicago. This position is responsible for maintaining the production studio and performing various production functions. Duties include scheduling staff and freelance employees, assigning daily responsibilities and working with Engineering to ensure technical aspects of the control room automation, equipment and studio. Additionally, the incumbent will be working with the operations, remote, digital and transmission staff on various production and communications as well as overseeing the Ticker and maintaining the professional functioning and appearance of the studio set.
Supervises the crew for Studio Production and Operations
Creates schedules and Processes Payroll of both staff and freelance employees
Liaison with Studio Production, Programming and New Media to schedule various production in the control room and studio
Backup for studio camera, floor director, and (Co) Pilot
Works with Engineering and the (Co) Pilots to ensure all technical aspects of production control room, studio and automation
Maintains the professional functioning and appearance of the studio set
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalency
A minimum of two years experience in television production/post production is necessary, including at least one years experience in television producing, directing and studio integration
A Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV is preferred
Great oral and written communication skills are needed
Outstanding organizational and project coordination skills are necessary
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary
An overall knowledge of sports and sports broadcasting is preferred
Knowledge of production equipment is essential
The ability to work flexible hours is necessary and a demonstrated ability to multitask and perform well under strict deadlines is required
