Job Description

The Big Ten Network is searching for a Remote Operations Coordinator to join their team in Chicago. The position will handle remote event operations planning for Big Ten broadcasts and be the operations point of contact for all assigned events. Responsibilities include planning and communicating all essential broadcast information leading up to and during the event. The incumbent will work directly with production, crewing, travel, vendors, and universities and be responsible for working on budgets at the event level. Additionally, the position will be responsible for ensuring proper crews, travel, and equipment are in order for each broadcast. Experience in production operations is necessary and a proven ability to manage projects under tight deadlines is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with University contacts for event planning
  • Work with event production contacts for event planning
  • Work with crewing, travel, and other in-house office personnel to ensure all event operations needs are met
  • Work on event budgets, remote equipment, and with vendors

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree preferred in Communication, Broadcasting, or Radio/TV/Film; or equivalent work experience
  • Basic understanding of remote television production a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed         
  • Budgeting skills are a requirement 
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure & self-guidance
  • Computer software: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook 

  • Must be familiar with remote production facilities & vendors 

  • Ability to perform job efficiently and effectively through interpersonal skills and under pressure

  • Ability to comfortably work in excel

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

  • Self motivated and able to have conversations with multiple levels of personnel

  • Must be extremely organized
