Job Description:

The Fox Searchlight Acquisitions Intern will support our close knit team as we prepare for various film festivals, including: Sundance, Berlin, SXSW, Tribeca and Cannes. Our intern will assist with database management, project tracking, script & film evaluation, creation of materials for festivals and other projects as assigned.


Learning Objectives: An exciting opportunity to gain exposure to the acquisition process in a studio setting while learning the ins-and-outs of each festival. Our intern will also have the opportunity to gain experience evaluating material while receiving feedback and mentoring throughout their internship. 

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in as an undergraduate, sophomore status or higher. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply.
  • Must be interested in film acquisitions and have some familiarity with the independent film market and the festival circuit.
  • Comfortable evaluating material and giving both written and verbal feedback.
  • Must use time efficiently and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Must be comfortable working with a sense of urgency and in high pressure situations.
  • Must be resourceful and comfortable working autonomously on a variety of projects with a “no task too small” mentality.
  • Excels with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Prior internship experience in the film industry is preferred.
