Job Description

The Wireless Network Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and support of the Fox global wireless network. Experience with Aruba Wireless Networks is required, as well as additional training especially with the CWNP organization. An understanding of Cisco and HP networking technologies are a must as these form the foundational network underlying our wireless infrastructure. Familiarity with Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls is a plus. These wireless systems are used worldwide for multiple Fox Business Units to deliver both television and theatrical content with extremely tight SLAs. This position will work closely with these BU's, both with their technical support teams as well as their managers and executives, to bring great designs and quick resolutions to any network challenges that may arise. The Senior Wireless Network Engineer will be responsible for all technical aspects of wireless network implementations with design guidance from the Senior Network Architect located in Los Angeles.


1. Network Design
  • Propose design and change documentation to support new installations and upgrades to existing configuration
  • Document existing network design for support purposes or in support of an upcoming change
  • Assist clients from various Business Units with project requirements, design and implementation
2. Network Implementation
  • Responsible for new device deployment
  • Personally deploy new devices in complex environments
  • Assist local support personnel for remote deployments of hardware
  • Assist local support with wireless deployments and wireless connectivity 
  • Document changes to the network during Implementation
  • Work closely with clients during and after implementation to ensure satisfaction and operation
3. Network Support and Troubleshooting
  • Provide 24x7 on call production support as a tier 4 escalation resource
  • Serve as a resource to identify and diagnose network specific issues
  • Work with our out-sourced NOC engineers with troubleshooting complex issues
  • Act as a consultant to other departments where they may have IT Network needs
  • Monitor the global network using our engineer toolsets to proactively engage problems when they occur


  • B.S. degree in a computer, physical sciences or engineering related discipline. This requirement may be waived only if the candidate demonstrates expert technical abilities
  • Language Skills
  • Candidate must be fluent in English. Other language skills a plus
  • Travel may be required. Candidate must have a valid passport
  • Candidate must pass local background and security checks; must have expert skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio)

Work Experience
  • Three years of experience designing and managing complex global wireless networks 
  • Three years of hands on experience with Aruba wireless networks including Clearpass and Airwave
  • Three years of hands on experience with Cisco switches and routers 
  • Three years of experience with complex routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF and BGP
  • Three years of experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk and Solarwinds
  • Two years of experience with Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls
  • One to three years of experience with VOIP and QOS
  • Experience with Aruba and Cisco a must, as well as at least one of the following: Riverbed, Juniper, Palo Alto and F5

Technical Knowledge
  • Wireless design and implementation

  • DHCP and IPAM
  • HSRP and VRRP
  • Enterprise routing protocols (i.e. EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)

  • F5 Load Balancing
  • Remote access and VPN

  • ACMP, CWDP or similar professional level certification (required)

  • Palo Alto (preferred)
