The Messaging System Engineer (Level 4 support) is responsible for providing in-depth technical and technological expertise in the deployment, delivery, and operational support of Microsoft and other communications and messaging related services. This includes but is not limited to; Exchange 2016, Exchange online, Office 365, Skype for Business, Active Directory, Okta, Proofpoint, Slack, Zoom, Rightfax. The ideal candidate will have a background in operational support of a medium to large enterprise infrastructure with a strong critical thinking ability in analyzing and troubleshooting a complex IT environment. Must have a strong understanding and experience with the operation, processes, and flow of Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid enterprise environment. This role will be interacting with all levels of employees and management and with vendor support. Communication and time management skills are key. He or she will also provide administration and engineering for all Messaging related projects such as implementing new systems or processes, and the architecture and planning of an Exchange Services Environment.
Clear understanding of disaster recovery concepts.
Experience with mail gateway configuration and concepts.
Knowledge of Exchange Front End/Back End operations.
Experience in the configuration of Exchange Policies.
Experience with managing Multi-Site distributed environment.
Extensive knowledge with Microsoft supported Outlook clients, including 2010, 2013 and 2016 and O365 Outlook on the web, and the communications protocols used for each.
Extensive concept and understanding of office 365 Email and cloud system.
Administration, support, maintenance and monitoring of the MS Exchange 2016 infrastructure.
Administration of mailboxes and user accounts, replication and rights assignments.
Extensive experience and understanding of mail flow from end to end, perform message tracking and troubleshooting to resolve mail delivery issues.
Must be able to parse message headers.
Should have the knowledge of capacity planning.
Good communication skills and client facing skills.
Experience in working with and the mentoring junior technical resources a plus.
Should be ready to work in a 24/7 environment.
