Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities for this role will be hands-on calculation of the global tax provision for the Company's filmed entertainment, cable, network and TV station business entities.
Calculate the worldwide tax provision, which includes:
Calculation of worldwide forecasted annual effective rate each quarter;
Calculation of the worldwide quarterly and year-end tax provision;
Computation of the Federal, state and foreign effective tax rate;
Data/Information gathering from the various business units within Fox;
Documentation and maintenance of tax provision supporting workpapers.
The position will work closely with the tax compliance, tax planning, and international teams to gather data for the global tax provision calculation; including management, coordination and review of submissions, and addressing issues impacting the tax accounting treatment
Forecast global cash taxes, including management of process, data/information gathering and coordination with the various business units and local teams within Fox
Maintain deferred tax inventory, which is used as a basis for the company's deferred tax calculation, and as support for the tax balance sheet accounts
Analyze impacts of various proposed/enacted tax law changes
Analyze tax accounting consequences of tax planning strategies and significant transactions (acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations)
Coordinate with compliance and international teams to compile data, obtain information and address issues impacting the tax provision
Develop and maintain relationships with operational and finance counterparts in each business segment
Maintain and refine the information gathering process to ensure that all data needs are met with the maximum level of efficiency
Drive automation and process improvement initiatives
Research and resolution of tax issues
Minimum 5 years of corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or private industry
Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA and advanced degree in taxation preferred
Corptax Provision user experience preferred
Proficient in Excel
Self-starter with strong organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively manage projects, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as function well with independent responsibilities
